PT. Phytochemindo Reksa Inaugurates Klapanunggal Factory and Launches Founder's Biography, Strengthening National Natural Raw Material Extract Independence

Bogor, 12 May 2026 PT. Phytochemindo Reksa has officially inaugurated the Klapanunggal Factory in Bogor Regency, West Java — a major step toward strengthening Indonesia's independence in natural raw material extracts. The ceremony was attended by the President Director, the BPOM Deputy for Traditional Medicine Supervision, and representatives from the Ministries of Health and Industry, underscoring strong government support for the national pharmaceutical and herbal industry.

Indonesia's Largest Natural Extract Production Facility

Built on a 23,235 m² site in Klapanunggal, Bogor Regency, the factory is the largest production facility in the company's history. It encompasses a production building, research laboratory, and integrated warehouse, all designed to serve as the company's operational backbone for the next 20 years. The facility has earned the highest-level CPOBAB (Good Manufacturing Practice for Natural Medicine) certification from BPOM — the gold standard for quality assurance in science-based natural extract production.

Rooted in research dating back to 1978, the factory is expected to significantly reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported raw materials for pharmaceuticals, traditional medicines, health supplements, cosmetics, and processed food, while unlocking greater value from Indonesia's extraordinary plant biodiversity.

Innovation Through Academic Collaboration

Phytochemindo's growth has been powered by partnerships with leading universities: with Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on Rhemaukur, registered as a Standardized Herbal Medicine (OHT); with Gadjah Mada University and Sanata Dharma University on nano turmeric extract (2022); and with the University of Indonesia on Sulawesi propolis extract and capsules, launched in 2025. Launch of the Founder's Biography

The inauguration was accompanied by the launch of a biography of the company's late founder, Drs. Wim Kalona, titled Meracik Resep Kehidupan Tegas ("Compounding a Recipe for a Steadfast Life"). Published to commemorate the 110th anniversary of his birth (12 May 1916 – 28 September 2000), the book chronicles his life journey, values, and grand vision: building a company grounded in integrity, knowledge, and unwavering principle.

A sand art performance completed the event, visually narrating Phytochemindo's journey — from early research and development to its emergence as a globally recognized player in the natural raw material extract industry.
